The Goal of Diminished Expectations :
To create a Guild/Community where we connect on what we have in common and show respect towards each other regarding what we don't have in common.
To create a Guild/ Community where EVERY member feels welcomed, safe and equal.
Rules and Guidelines:
All members of the guild/ Community regardless of rank, are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct governs all interactions between guild/community members and other people while associated with the Guild/Community of Diminished Expectations .
This Code of Conduct applies to all members.
Breaches of the Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action from the Guild/Community Leadership appropriate to the player's rank and the nature of the breach.
Such punishments will include, in increasing order of severity: demotion, expulsion from the guild, and enforced fishing.
Age Limit Guidelines:
All ages are welcome to play in the DE Warcraft Guilds.
16 years is the minimum age to be in our DE Discord.
Respect others.
Treat all other players with dignity and respect.
There is a difference between having fun and being a bully.
Take the time to get to know other members and you will know what is OK and what is not OK to say and do in each others presence.
Be respectful of other members of the guild/community, their abilities, their contributions, and any extra duties they perform to keep the guild/community running.
Harassment in any form will not be tolerated.
If you witness harassment and do not report it to leadership or attempt to shut it down, you may be looked at as being an accomplice.
We all play to have fun.
Don't ruin it for other people.
It is you, and not the Guild Leadership, who is primarily responsible for whether you are having fun or not.
Complaining that no one will play with you, that no one is on when you are on, that no one will jump when you think they need to, is not OK and will not be tolerated.
We are a No Pressure Guild & Environment. Everyone has their own life and responsibilities to attend to, please respect that.
The Guild /Community is not your babysitter.
Children are allowed to play with their family members, but are not to be left unattended and are not welcome in voice chats without a parent in attendance.
We are adults that play to enjoy our free time and unwind. Please do not expect DE Members to entertain you & your family.
Read the room-
Every thought that comes into your mind does not need to come out of your mouth.
This is a guild/ community of adults, so make sure you act like it. "Read the room." in other words, analyze the general mood of the people you are around and act accordingly.
"Locker room humor" isn't always welcomed or cool to force on others.
Make sure your comments aren't alienating those around you or go to far and land you removed from the guild and community.
Don't be that creepy pervy member everyone starts to avoid or and sooner or later gets reported because you can't take a hint or dial it back.
The Guild & Community does not revolve around you.
This is a Guild & Community & not a stage.
People are here to play and relax, not to be micromanaged
We need to connect on what we have in common and not what we don't.
People are here to play, relax, socialize or not socialize. How they play is up to them.
DE members are not here to throw tokens of admiration at you and worship the pixel ground you walk on.
If you butt heads with someone, avoid communications with each other to the best of your ability.
Not everyone will get along with everyone else, not everyone will agree with everyone else.
We need to try our best to agree to disagree the best we can.
We need to focus on what we have in common and not what we don't.
As a Guild/Community conflict will inevitably arise, but:
As adults, members are expected to either try to resolve disagreements with other players civilly, privately and independently.
Failing that, try to work around it.
Approach an Officer for assistance if you have exhausted all other options.
If you do not feel comfortable approaching the person who whom you have a complaint about, please share your concerns with leadership and make sure you tell them if you would like the matter to be anonymous as much as possible.
"Bad Actors" will not be tolerated.
Disagreements or other behaviors which become disruptive are unacceptable.
Poaching and Smear Campaigning is childish and not allowed in the guild.
Everyone has been in that guild where a "Precious" guildy gets bent out of shape then starts to whisper trash talk to everyone in a childish attempt to destroy the guild and community from within because their "specialness" wasn't recognized.
Save yourself the time and avoid looking foolish by being the token "Poacher". It's never a good look.
This is the "If I'm not happy, no one can be happy!" scenario.
If you find your self on the receiving end of this the best thing to do is to report it to leadership and block them to avoid any further harassment.
At the end of the day, people will leave if they are unhappy for their own reasons and people with stay for their own reasons.
It is no ones business and members who leave will not be chased. Their decisions to leave will be respected by leadership.
Guild rules will inevitably change over time.
Members are expected to accept and adhere to new rules regardless of their personal opinions.
Be mindful that Leadership tries to make decisions that are best for the guild as a whole and for the long term, which may not necessarily correspond to the best decision for you personally right now.
Changes will be announced via a post in the forums.
Constructive feedback and discussion on all aspects of the guild/ Community are always welcome.
Complaints should not be made unless accompanied by alternative proposals and/or solutions.
All feedback and discussion should respect this Code of Conduct.
Read the forums.
The forums are the main way of communicating important guild information (as well as a lot of trivial guild information).
It is your responsibility to check the forums regularly and stay aware of any important information.
We will not twist your arm to do so as your knowledge base is up to you to maintain.
Do not engage in any activity that will bring the guild/ Community name into disrepute.
Behaviors such as spamming, trolling, ninja'ing, begging, flaming, or other anti-social actions are not acceptable.
Do not record or live-stream guildies or DE members without their knowledge.
This means you should:
Verbally announce that you are recording or live-streaming to those in your shared voice chat and re announce to each new person who joins.
Use voice chat channel labeled streaming , then you don't have to continually announce that you are streaming.
Do not use excessive, gratuitous or explicit language.
Justifiable mature language and conversation is to be accepted in a guild of adults.
Political, Over the top profanity and perverse comments & topics as well as similarly divisive topics are not welcomed and may result in removal.
There is an option to put profanity filters on in many games, so that will be your first step to control what type of speech you see.
Abusive, Harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or prejudicial behavior of any form is expressly forbidden and will be met with immediate expulsion from the guild.
Intentionally vexatious, obstructive, malicious, hostile, aggressive, or insulting behavior is not acceptable.
